Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler
Job Description
This role supports a start-to-finish manufacturing operation that produces high-quality tables and beds for the wellness and healthcare industries, including products used in doctor offices, hospitals, beauty salons, and other health-focused environments. The forklift operator and material handler ensures that materials are accurately received, stored, and delivered to the production line using a variety of warehouse handling equipment, while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area and adhering to company policies and quality standards.
Responsibilities
  • Move materials to and from the production line to support manufacturing activities using forklifts (regular and stand-up), hand trucks, pallet jacks, large roller ladders, and other warehouse handling equipment.
  • Utilize and maintain proficiency with the OW ERP system to look up and research purchase orders, specific inventory items, and inventory by location.
  • Receive inbound shipments into the ERP system on applicable purchase orders and ensure accurate data entry for all received materials.
  • Run, create, and complete data entry for "Needs List" reports to support production and inventory planning.
  • Make inventory and location corrections in the system as needed and generate applicable product inventory and identification labels.
  • Unload trucks and inbound freight, verifying package quantities against the bill of lading.
  • Verify package quantities, contents, and part numbers against packing lists to ensure accuracy.
  • Apply appropriate product identification labels on received items to ensure proper tracking and traceability.
  • Identify, move, and store inspection and medical items in designated locations according to established procedures.
  • Locate, move, and pull inventory items to and from applicable storage locations to support production and shipping requirements.
  • Deliver materials and components to the appropriate production floor locations upon request to maintain continuous workflow.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance and adhere to all company rules, policies, and procedures, including safety, quality, and department-specific guidelines.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior, integrity, a strong work ethic, and adherence to high performance standards.
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions accurately to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Keep the work area neat, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
  • Show willingness to learn new skills and improve existing skills in an environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Work cooperatively with others in a team environment and support departmental efforts toward achieving organizational goals.
  • Ensure personal productivity meets departmental demands and production schedules.
  • Perform general maintenance on machines and conduct minor repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Carry out departmental duties as required to support overall operations.
  • Generate reports and analyses for departments as requested, using company software and tools.
  • Communicate relevant information clearly and promptly to supervisors, peers, and other departments.
  • Provide suggestions to improve quality, efficiency, and safety within the department and across the facility.
  • Stay current on state-of-the-art technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and maintain high competency in company software related to the position.
  • Complete all required training to perform job requirements safely and consistently as specified by the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Understand the intended end use of products and be aware of device defects that may occur from improper performance of job tasks.
  • Participate in periodic recertification and take responsibility for reporting any defects caused or observed in products or processes.
  • Be available to work during production hours, Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and work additional overtime hours as required.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably at least 2 years of work experience in manufacturing or a similar environment.
  • Prior forklift certification and hands-on experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Forklift and material handling equipment experience, including regular and stand-up forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and roller ladders.
  • Ability to interpret detailed schematics or drawings; blueprint reading experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with traditional manufacturing processes, with machining and fabricating exposure preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with multiple departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly when required.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet production demands.
  • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written work instructions consistently.
  • Capability to generate reports and perform basic data analysis related to inventory and departmental needs.
  • Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and other basic assembly tools.
  • Experience as an assembler for 1 or more years, ideally with the ability to interpret detailed schematics or drawings.
  • Understanding of traditional manufacturing processes, including machining and fabricating operations.
  • Comfort working in an environment that uses wood products, lacquer, metal products, and metal processing materials.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous improvement activities and suggest ways to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to stay current on relevant technology and software affecting warehouse and manufacturing operations.
  • Capacity to work in a repetitive, side-to-side motion and maintain focus throughout the shift.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Freedom, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
