Commercial Litigation Attorney

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling sophisticated commercial litigation matters and be comfortable taking ownership of cases from discovery through motion practice and, where appropriate, trial.

The successful candidate will possess exceptionally strong legal research and writing skills , sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex litigation matters efficiently and strategically.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and handle sophisticated commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
\n
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions, discovery motions, and other substantive applications.
\n
• Take primary responsibility for all aspects of discovery, including developing discovery strategies, drafting and responding to discovery requests, managing document review, and preparing for and defending depositions.
\n
• Conduct complex legal research and prepare persuasive briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and other substantive legal documents.
\n
• Develop case strategy and work independently while collaborating effectively with partners, associates, clients, experts, and other professionals.
\n
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues and provide practical, strategic advice to clients.
\n
• Manage multiple matters and competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
\n
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation as appropriate.
\n
• Communicate effectively with clients and demonstrate strong case and client-management skills.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
\n
• Admission to the relevant state bar(s) in good standing.
\n
• 7–10 years of substantive litigation experience , with a strong focus on commercial litigation.
\n
• Significant experience with motion practice and complex discovery .
\n
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet demanding deadlines.
\n
• Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
